A letter to my Granddaughters,

Dearest Granddaughters

From the very beginning of everything, God made something wonderful:
He made people to be like Him — full of life, love, and beauty.

The Bible says:

“God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
(Genesis 1:27)

That means God made both boys and girls to show the world how amazing He is.

Then the Bible tells us a little more:

“The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul.”
(Genesis 2:7)

God breathed His own breath into Adam, and Adam became alive!
But God knew Adam needed someone special — so He made Eve, the very first woman, from Adam’s side, close to his heart.

When Adam saw Eve, he said:

“This is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh!”

He meant, “She is just like me — special, loved, made by God.”

And, dear girls, so are you.

God Made You Just Right
God made you girls on purpose — not by accident.
He made you to show His beauty, kindness, strength, and love in a way that no one else can.

You are:

Fearfully and wonderfully made.

Full of God’s breath and life.

Created to shine His light in the world.

You are equal to boys — not less, not second best.
But God made boys and girls a little different, so together they could reflect more of His goodness.

Your girlhood is a gift — something to be celebrated, treasured, and lived with joy!

Your Special Place in God’s Story
Even when people made wrong choices and sin came into the world, God had a plan to rescue us.
And do you know something wonderful?

God chose a woman, Mary, to bring Jesus, the Savior, into the world.

Women stayed near Jesus when others ran away.

And when Jesus rose from the dead, He first appeared to a woman — Mary Magdalene — and gave her the joyful job of telling others that He was alive!

In God’s big story, girls and women are precious and important.

And you, dear granddaughter, are part of that beautiful story too.

Always Remember
In a world that sometimes forgets what is true, I want you to always remember:

God made you a girl — on purpose, with love.

God loves you very, very much.

You are beautiful because you are His.

You are strong because He lives in you.

You are special because He breathed His life into you.

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a girl who loves the LORD will be praised.”
(based on Proverbs 31:30)

You are my delight, and I thank God for you every single day.

With all my love,
Grandfather
